Artificial Intelligence: from sci-fi to everyday reality

Artificial Intelligence has been around for decades, in both real world research and science fiction, but it is only recently that AI services have started being commercially available and used widely. Digital personal assistants, computer vision, apps that adapt to the user’s behaviors and habits are new tools that architects not only can include in their portfolio, but even have to, in order to envision and produce solutions that are up to the users’ needs and expectations. This presentation will outline the technical and commercial opportunity arising from the wide availability of AI services, and describe the new playing field where architects can create and compete, together with a few new challenges that they will face there.
